P.I.E. aux input fix is ready
Just received an email for discountcarstereo where I bought it and they say they can either ship me just the new chip for the fix ( I looked at the installation instructions...no problem) or I can send my unit back and they will send me a new one w/ the fix already installed.
I recieved the replacement chip yesterday from PIE. Installed the chip and let the car sit all night and the unit is still being recognized by my shaker 500. Before the chip swap my radio would lose the PIE after sitting for a few hours.
Looks like they got it right this time.

I believe I read that if you disconnect the battery, it would "lose" the PIE, and you'd have to open up the dash and do something to get it to see it again. Will it no longer do that? If that is true, I will be buying one ASAP. I just want to make sure that if I disconnect my battery, the PIE will still be there afterwards (without opening up the dash... meh to that).
According to the logjam forum, only some people are getting the replacement chip to be beta testers. The fix isn't ready yet, so you (and I) will have to wait a little while longer for the fix to be released.
Well I finally got my original AUX harness installed and haven't had any problems at all. Everytime the car has been turned on over the last 2 weeks the headphone icon comes up. I haven't tried disconnecting the battery, but I haven't had reason to get under the hood recently. I wonder if it's just the Shaker units that had the problem.

Like I said - "according to the logjam forum":
(Update 10/10/05) We have begun to get emails and phone calls from individuals that are saying that "they have read that the new IC chip is out and being shipped by P.I.E." This is inaccurate! P.I.E. has shipped a few IC chips to some customers for Beta testing but that is all. Beta testing is to continue until P.I.E. is absolutely sure the product tests without failure in the '05 Mustang and '05 Ford 500. Noneone would want the IC chip to be released without complete testing.
