Since I started reading all of you guys with 05s already putting in aftermarket, and since I don't have one yet to change out the stereo, I just thought i'd share some recommendations on stereo components.

I used to think Pioneer, Kenwood, and Alpine have the best speakers and such, but when I redid my Mazdaspeed's stereo system, I went with all Oz Audio speakers - 7" components in the front doors/sail panels, 6x9s in the rear deck, and 2 10" subs powered by an Audison amp. I have had numerous people compliment on the overall sound of the system, as it almost sounds like a theatre when youre inside it. The headunit is a Kenwood KDC-X979 with the built in Dolby 5.1 encoder, DSP, and SRS WOW settings. I love it.

If youre more concerned with true quality of sound than just heart stopping bass, I really suggest you look into their speaker line. I think anyone out there that dropped a nice Oz system into an 05 would be more than satisfied with the results, and it blows away a stock Shaker 1000 for about 400 bucks more total cost.
