New shift **** and boot

Started redoing my interior and audio this week. Got my new shift boot and **** installed. Redline goods did a great job with the boot and I got the **** from sickspeed. Overall I'm happy with how it looks. Next I'll be putting in the qlogic kick panels and custom sub box. I'll post pics once it's done (still waiting for the subs to be delivered).

Lookin' good, but deja vu...I wonder which is better/easier to install/etc. Looks a lot like yours, Mike...

the timing is pretty uncanny really. installing any boot is the same job, other than the one brian just did is a uip trim ring which is a harder install. that was the first striped boot we have done, and brian supplied that red from his interior. one difference is we install a o ring in the top of the boot.

Oh wow that is wild. And here I though I was being unique. Having an o ring installed at the top of the boot is definitely nice. I struggled getting my rubber o ring out of the factory shift boot and ended up covering the shift **** adapter with the boot. Today I cut the holes in the kick panels and finished priming and painting (pic attached)

I finally got them in. Yes it's a very tight fit. I love the sound stage. A lot of 'presence' in the front.

Where did you get your boot? The tabs that keep it locked in place, a couple of them broke off an now the boot moves every time I shift. I rather just get the stock one but don't know where to look.

check out the threads on this page for some pics of boots. jamin got his from redline, which make a pretty good part, and in some cases makes a few that we cant. but we have the shift boots pretty well covered for a stock look, leather boot with colored stitching. you would have to use your oem trim ring that the boot gets glued onto. if those are the tabs your talking about, you would have to come up with that part, or maybe one of the dress up trim rings that go over it, but i think they also secure to the oem trim ring

Nice. I have a similar setup except I just removed the rear speakers and replaced the door subs.
