need help wiring a shaker radio

car came with the basic sng cd stereo. couple yrs ago i got a shaker 1000 hu and its been great. i picked up the frt amps this year for the door subs( that i dont have yet). ive seen a couple guys add subs to the doors, so thats what i want to do. i know the door panels are different, but the space is in the door itself.

so i`m just guessing i need the wire plugs to go from the hu to the amps, then the amps to the speakers??? anyone know if thats what i need and where i could get them? just wondering if anyone else has done this? thanks

So do your doors not have the openings/enclosures for the subs?

nope. just the base doors. ive seen at least one guy on a forum install some in his base door though. the space is behind the panel. of course, i would love to get new door panels with the subs, but pretty pricy.

i was just looking under the dash, the bolts(studs) are there for the amps to bolt in, but there are no extra wires for it. its gonna be a challenge, all the more fun right? on a good note i can destroy, i mean take apart marcys 06 to see where the wires run.

Yea it would definately be a challange. The best thing about the shaker door panels is that it has the enclosure as well as the hole. The enclosure really helps the subs kick. Not sure how much you want to get into it but you could probably make your own.
I think you would need the wiring for the shaker 1000 stereo, to have everything wire up like the stock unit. Ill see what I can find about it. Honeslty unless you are really attached to the shaker system, going aftermarket would make your llife a lot easier.

i might have to just wait and get some door panels. most on ebay are always beat up. i saw that speaker box goes across the door behind there, and i`d really like to have the upgraded panels with the inserts. cant even put welting on the base panels

ya, the stereo works just fine for me even with just the 4 speakers but ive got the amps now and it would be nice to have the door subs. i might be able to fab some boxes for the doors, at the least, i`m gonna need the plug connectors for the amps and hu

havent been thinking about the other part of the system, the 1000 comes with 4 amps in the trunk. not sure what all that powers, are they for the deck ? and the bass box in the trunk?

The Trunk amps power the shaker 1000 subwoofer box. Which are 2 10" subwoofers

Gotcha. I actually removed all of the shaker equipent from my car and went aftermarket. Id consider selling it but shipping would probably be outragous

definatly see what you can find in a junkyard. See if you can swap you door panels for some with the boxes + cash.
