and noticed it is too small to fit around the shifter boot.....I realize I can lift the boot and install the piece - but am leery that the boot clips won't go all the way down with the extra thickness of the console cover piece.....did you have to trim the inside diameter of the console cover piece to fit around the boot piece?

TIA

No trim was necessary, the pieces I received fit perfect.

Paul - do you have the auto or mtx? I wonder if there is a diff since the mtx is "leather" wrapped and may be a bit larger. Anyways - I have gotten it to fit by trimming with my dremel - I had to remove some of the inside edge across the front and driver's side towards the front - gonna look great!!

I have the MTX and it fit over and around the shifter perfectly. I found it made a major difference with the console top, because it was like a black coffee table that had to be dusted all the time to look good.

I agree.......gotta get my new camara hooked up so I can post pics....I did the center stack surroud (no radio fascia) with the window switch plates, the console cover and will install the headlight switch panel tomorrow......covered all the cheap plastic looking parts without going overboard!!

Just right IMHO

Look forward to the pics! I didn't do around the headlite switch only because it "looked" like the pieces had too many edges. Anyway, I was worried they might be prone to peeling easier than the rest. I don't really know though.

That's why I didn't do it tonight! Wanted to be sure that I thought it was worth the trouble - cause it looks like it's going to require glue - due to the "curvature" of the location and the small, pointed ends. Also, the smaller piece doesn't really cover the remaining area very well. I'll see if it really bothers me or not and let you know if I do install.

I like that. I may go that way as well...Im also looking at the 2 slim pieces that go beside the stereo stack. Down both sides. I haven't decided yet.

Thanks guys appreciate the feedback. I didn't want to go overboard - just wanted to cover up most of the cheap plastic look parts. I do prefer the stainless to the WUD look (JMHO) as the Stang is more of a sports car - not a luxury car.....but that's the beauty of us Stang owners - making our rides personal to our own tastes. I bet within 1 or 2 years the additional satin parts I covered will come standard that way with the IUP package....Ford always likes to "tweek" things from year to year. I wonder how they will tweak the taillights/headlights for upcoming years......probably no change for '06 - but in '07 something will change......smoked headlight covers like they did in '01 to the last fox platform Stangs???/
