I have an 08 automatic and the paint on the base of the shifter is peeling like crazy, I use a sunshield...still, slowly but surely the black paint is chipping away. I pretty much replaced as much interior as I could with chrome billiting but no such piece for the base, just the handle and bezel....anyone else have/had this problem? Whats the best method to fix it (and please dont tell me to use finger nail polish like some dude at autozone suggested)....smh Thanks

Are you talking about the center console? Never heard of this peeling or chipping, post a pic. Your best option is probably to remove the part and repaint it.

Im in afghanistan, so Im hard pressed to get pictures. Was emailed pictures, I imagine its just sun damage. Though the pics dont meet the size requirements and I dont have any software to resize on my work computer. I think ill just take it out and repaint it when I get back, I figured thats what I would have to do but was hoping for a shortcut. Thanks.
