My floor heat fix
My floor heat fix
I don't like the way the floor heat kicks out. It doesn't seem to warm my feet well enough. So here is my 10 cent fix.
I cut the corner out of a case used for beer or pop. The kind that holds 4 6 packs.

I used some 2 sided tape on the inside

and then attached it to the heat duct on the drivers side.

The heat now blows right on my feet. Werks for me!! Its not real pretty but no one will ever see it where it is mounted.

Ha, not a bad idea... but what I really want is a way to divert the heat directly to the shifter. I tend to drive with the windows down 95% of the time, even with it in the 30's on my drive to work. I can get the left vent on my steering wheel hand, but the right hand gets cold.

I was actually thinking of something like that on my drive into work.. but instead of being on the front of the vent, actually mount it inside the vent so I can pull the vent out to direct it down, but also slide it back in to look stock.

Um... I see it. It's right there, man.

Actually, using that as a template, you can get some sturdy plastic, prime and paint it bumper black, and stick it in there... then it'll look more stock.
That's what I did for Muskrat around the gas fill... made template outta thin cardboard.. then used that on some *thick* cardboard, and carpeted it, and screwed it in place.
Looked kinda stock when I was done with it...
Dang I miss that car...

Maybe some baffles or something were left out when my transmission was swapped out, but either way, after a while of running I can feel warmth coming up from the shifter area. My old camaro used to do this too.
That's hilarious!
But whatever works for you, man! The car does eventually warm up, but this is the first car I've ever had where you can't feel the heat coming from the floor ducts. I usually set the control to send heat to the vents and floor until I am totally warmed up, then direct the heat to the floor to maintain the temperature. It is a crappy design, however, so I don't blame you for doing what you did.
