My first INTERIOR mod
anyone got pics of the black dash with the silver vents? if that looks good i would be willing to swop with someone seeing as i have the black dash and black vents, and i think the silver vents would look good with my black dash
someone let me know if they want to swop or if someone thats made the change already has some silver vents they need to get rid of ill take them off your hands

Otherwise you'd have to buy the instrument panel section, the center section, AND the right side section, OR four of the right side section. See picture below.
(sorry I don't have the part numbers for any of the sections)
The cheapest way to do it is to swap with someone who doesn't have the IUP (Interior Upgrade Package) Or you might could find someone who has already swapped theirs out and buy their black ones.

Okay, so your first post to the board, and your bashing another member for a tasteful modification that they've done to their car (and if you haven't noticed, other members were interested), yet you post up some of the riceyest crap I've seen on the interior of a S197? And I'd LOVE to know what makes you the fastest V6 on the road.
Well welcome to the party, may I see your ID and Invitation?
I will advise you to calm down your remarks and opinions.
Thank you, and by the way " the worlds fastest 6-cylinder mustang"
do not reside at your location.
It is a NHRA Outlaw car.

Sorry StangNut, I didn't see your reply until just now. I ended up stopping by the dealer and what you say is correct, I can’t buy just the louvers but I can buy each vent unit #GR32-1989-AA(see pic). Having said that the bad news is that Mr. Ford wants $45 per vent!! I love the look of the dark vents but not for $180(LOL), soooo I stopped by the local Ace Hardware and took a look at their paint selection. What I found was a textured paint by Rustoleum called “Hammered Black†that very nearly matches my charcoal aluminum IUP. I’m going to try paint the louvers and see what it looks like, maybe even the whole vent(the part that pops out) including the chrome ring, but I’ll have to give that some thought first. Thanks for your help and again I apologies for not seeing it.

cool delete my thread...no doubt.
im just saying... u can buy the car from the factory with "black" air vents....
show me chromed out non stock ones and i'll be impressed....
and as for "fastest v6" dont take it as a threat....
go ahead delete this one too...just proves im right.

I was going to stay out of this... especially after what a good laugh I got out of seeing pics of his car, but his first post was a little over the top. (the one that got deleted - Thanks, TDS)
I'm not into flashy or gaudy mods. I just like the sutble changes. And like Jackie said, you can't get it that way from the factory.

Dang it - If I could remember the guys name on here who I swapped mine with, you could see his car - he took my IUP vents for his ride....
I wonder if those Dash LED's go back and forth like on Knight Rider. Or maybe they're like huge turn signal indicators for the visually impaired. Or maybe it's like a huge flat tach that turns on more LED's as the engine goes faster.
Sorry, just being practical...
BTW, I mean this pic not Stangnut's..

Really hate to take this thread

Add a mirrored ball below your map lights and have a true 70s retro look to your interior! (platform shoes, white three piece polyester suit w/ black shirt, Kool and The Gang on 8 track optional.)
Back on topic:
I have a Deluxe with no IUP (because I don't like shiny stuff in the interior) and am soon sending off the vents to have the hated chrome trim rings done in carbon fiber.
