My color in radio and climate control area

I have an 08 GT/CS. I have mycolor in the speedometer and tach areas. I want "my color" in the radio-climate control area. Is there a way to do this without buying the $ 200 plus item to add the "my color"?
Thanx for any info

Don't recall seeing anything on making them into a MyColor system, but there is a great write up on changing the lighting over to a different color, however it's somewhat involved...... Look at the top of this forum, I dug up the thread and stickied it.

Woohoo I made a sticky (sounds gross I know ).

I was working on a mycolor conversion kit but ran into issues creating the replacement boards and controller. I hope to start it up again since the car is going to be parked for winter this week. I was looking at two options

Option 1: Seperate controller that only controls the added 3color LEDs. (prototype is partially made)

Option 2: Controller module that listens for the CAN signals of the mycolor options and adjusts as needed.
(talked with several people who claim this is possible but it may be )

On another note My LEDs have been error free since install. A ford tech noticed it when he parked my car after service. He asked how I set mycolor for the rest of the buttons.

I can see pro's for both options, but I.M.O. I would prefer to be able to change the current non-my color lights separate of the gauge cluster, would also be nice to be able to adjust the brightness separate from the gauges.

Either way, sweet.. I'm not a fan of the ford green lighting.

Don't run around saying that out loud....... hahahahaa

Seriously though, great job doing this and making the write up. Frankly as soon as I remembered the thread last night after reading the OP's post about changing the console lighting, it was destined to be stickied.

I would be VERY interested in purchasing a kit for option 1.
