what really pissed me off about the colors is that they dont use the primary colors RED BLUE and YELLOW. so i have a screamin yellow gt and i cant get a stinkin yellow of ANY shade at a background...wtf is green one of the 3 color levels? yellow and blue makes green, its a secondary color...arg i could rant on but ive learned to just live with it (i put on a baby blue and called it a day)
Because that's what is normally done, open your paint program, you set the levels of red, blue and green.

Have you tried R-5, G-5, B-1, that should give you yellow.

Edit: For the visually inclined:

your TV works off of a RGB Scale as well only there are 255 steps to each color channel. 255 red 255 blue and 255 green. also each channel is carrying a lumanance value (brightness) so that is why on the My Color 5 all the way across the board gives you bright white. it becomes the absolute value of chromanance and lumanance for each channel. so in theory not only are you changing the color but you are also changing the brightness. if you want to get real technical it is actualy more of a YUV color space on a TV but hey be glad you can at least change it more than once.

God bless america where the grass is always greener...

I apologize for the needless tech jargon, just bored here at work.

ya ive done 5-5-1, thats what i had for quite a while until it started really buggin me. checked paint, couldn find color level adj...checked my computer monitor adjustments and yup, u are right bout blue/red/green...i guess im just a studio art guy who likes to derive colors the non-electronic way. that 5-5-1 setting in real life is actually not like that pic tho, it has major nod to the "green" radio leds, but with a slight yellow tint...its not actually yellow tho to me, much less bright yellow- o well

the post was a sort of joke tho, i wasn literally pissed off, i just found it annoying. i actually really like the whole mycolor option!

I actually did it first on the MyColor itself and thought it was pretty yellow, but my exterior isn't yellow so I didn't have anything to compare it to, but I understand what you are saying. My major gripe is that MyColor should control all the interior lights, it's always nice having blue and that ugly green interior lights.

Red Green Blue is the primary colors for light. Red Yellow Blue is the primary colors in pigments.

Light Color Mix.............................................Pi gment Color Mix
Why it works that way, I have no idea.

It's because the broadest ranges of wavelengths are those colors as can be seen here:

Close. Pigment primaries are Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. Take a look inside your color printer.

Note that combining any two light primaries will give you a pigment primary, and combining any two pigment primaries will give you a light primary.

Yes..."perfect" absorbers the primaries are Cyan, Magenta and Yellow:

But most pigments are not and the Red Green Blue applies better.

I think you mean red yellow blue, but no, it doesn't. If they applied better the printing companies would be using them. Doesn't change a thing regarding the definition of primary pigments.
