Motorcraft Workshop Manuals
I'm thinking of subscribing (short term) to the 2006 Mustang tech manuals at:
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdirs/ret...d=productdetail
Has anyone done this? What format do they use for these documents? Is one able to save a copy of the documents (on a local hard drive) for later use or is it only accessible online while you are subscribed?
Thankz

I bought a Ford Service Information DVD off of eBay for about $30 that has all the needed information on it. That way I can access it at any time I want with no additional fees. These DVD's have a date on them that they are suppossed to be discarded by the dealership after...some people sell them instead. Since mine is dated May of 2005 I just have to set my computers date back to sometime before that date to get it to work. Detailed diagrams, TSB's, electrical diagrams...all sorts of good stuff. The only downside I can think of is that your information is only as current as the DVD is. Not a problem for me, since I have found this site to be loaded with plenty of current info such as the listing of TSB's in the 'Issues" section of the TMS site. The 2005 Mustang Service Manual is available in .pdf files to Team Mustang Source members.

I actually went ahead and paid for a month subscription. It's a little shaky but once I got in it seemed to have everything I was looking for (complete wiring diagrams for the audio system including Shaker 500 & 1000 not just that vague PDF wiring diagram of the headunit that's been going around). The files are in .SVG (scalable vector graphics) format, with some combined with HTML and easily printable. You can also save the .SVG to your drive. The .SVG files are viewable with an Adobe Reader. They also give you wiring plug part numbers and layouts.
I probably could have gotten away with the shorter term subscription (cheaper), grabbed what I need, and got out.
