How do i program my rear view mirror buttons to open my garage door

 

I didnt realize that this mirror option was available. Must be the on the 07's??

 

If you have the mirror that came with the Comfort Group, you can't. It only provides a compass and auto-dimming.

I believe the only "home link" option is a dealer installed accessory...at least that's the way it was when I got mine back in February.

(I would gladly trade my compass for a garage door opener. What were they thinking? I mean, which one do YOU use more?)

 

Do you have the Gentex rear view mirror with Homelink?

I can give you the Gentex instructions but I need more information please.

 

You can also just buy a homelink transmitter rather then replacing the entire mirror. They were just cheap little plastic gizmos they used to stick in the Expy sun visors.

 

the mirro I have in my 05 has diff controls for garage doors. i dont think it is aftermarket. it has compass also

 

Definatley aftermarket.. 05's never had that option.

 

well mines has it and im preety sure its nto aftermarket. it has compass and than 3 buttons with this like image of a garage and an arrow, a compass button, and an on and off button

 

The mirrors with the compass were not available as an option until '07. Even then, Homelink is not included with these mirrors.

 

You have a homelink optioned mirror. Does not matter how or why, but be glad you do. To check on how to program it...go to homelink.com. I can't recall the exact sequence, but I know you hold the button on the mirror down until the l.e.d. flashes then hold your door opener up to it, press the opener button and the mirror programs itself. Check the website to be sure, though.

 

thanks alot it worked. just one last note from all my other friends apparently all the fords here in canada have homelink, perhasp its an option. ne wyas thanks for the help

 

Ah, that makes sense then.

Why doesn't Ford put them on the U.S. Mustangs too?? Even if they had to raise the sticker, by what, $20??
