Looking for anyone with this factory Dash

My 06 GT came with what I believe is the factory "hatched-pattern" metal dash overlay. I have seen a dash overlay as one of the available options ont he '06, and I'm pretty sure that this is that option, and not an aftermarket piece. The treatment is only done on the upper dash panels. It has a kind of carbon-fiber effect.

I am trying to find a source for this overlay, as another GT owner wants to convert his car. I have not seen another GT yet with this dash!

Does anyone know anything about this dash?

Factory "dark" IUP package-optional order code 67D. Factory order only-cannot be installed-unless you want to spend $$$$.

You must have got real lucky to get the Charcoal IUP panels in an '06. It was only available as an option for the '07 model year and standard for the Shelby Cobra.

I guess your friend could get the "snake skin" dash pieces from the dealer parts dept. Although I think the Airbag section comes with the airbag module. Might get kind of spendy. Maybe Kevin from Clevparts can get you some numbers?

The Carbon Fiber Dash was a Late 06 Option. It is Available but you have to get the Airbags for the Above Dash Pieces and is Spendy. The 07 Shelby has a Similar Style and Color but is Considered a Titanium Finish. It is GT-500 Specific. It is even More Expensive. Note The Shelby Pieces have a Rough or Gritty Feel while the Carbon Fiber has a Smooth Feel.

Here is a Shelby! Also Note Padded Dash!

Oh yeah, that's right. The Shelby has the charcoal air registers instead of the silver and the pattern is more of a true basket weave instead of the snake scales.

I prefer the dark IUP, it has more character.

Is the the titanium basketweave pattern on the bottom spoke of the Shelby steering wheel also, or is it painted the same color as the register housings? I forgot to look when we delivered our last GT500 a few weeks ago.

No- it's just the standard brushed aluminum steering wheel. It would have been cool if they had done just a few more interior pieces in the Dark IUP trim...

I had no idea it would be so expensive to retrofit this option- that's a real bummer. I was thinking I might get the standard black registers to tone the dash down even more...

That would be cool. I guess it's a matter of manufacturing. It would be pretty hard to bend the thin aluminium into steering wheel spokes without distorting the printed pattern.
