Have you tried http://www.diodedynamics.com? They have a bunch of different LEDs.

This is one I put in my trunk years ago. It works well mounted under the package shelf and tied into the trunk light.

I have several of these in use and they are still working fine after 3 years or more. These are RGB so you can make them any color you want. Here's an eBay link.

I did this with non expensive super bright LEDs I got off ebay. Bought 2 of them placed then near the speakers and they light up the trunk nicely. I thought I had a picture.
If you are interested I can show you what LEDs I bought. Costs me like $8 or something like that.
So you dont need to get those expensive leds from diodedynamics.
