IUP Shift Boot and Bezel on Automatic!

I bought the factory IUP shift boot and bezel and installed it around my automatic shifter!

I did discover that the manual boot bezel will fit around the automatic shift bezel... So for those who do not want to use the boot, remove it from the bezel and it will fit perfectly.

Here is also a peek at whats on my key ring...

Hmmm. How do you know what gear you are selecting?

Cool mod!

I have done this for many years on many of my automatic transmission vehicles which I have applied a shift boot around the auto lever. I have done this on a few Camaros, my 1994 Mustang, my 1989 Tbird and even my 2005 Cavalier. I am used to using it without having to have a PRND321 indicator. I know the positions with the detents. With the detents you are locked out of going into park or reverse or going past D unless you push the selector button.

It's no different than knowing where to position a manual shifter without looking at the shift pattern on the ****. If you think about it, you will be surprised that once you get used to a new car you really dont pay attention to the selector position in an automatic as you just get used to it without thinking about it. It's like knowing where to reach for the toilet lever to flush the toilet without having to look at it...

Cool Very Nice upgrade!

"WD": Must say that looks very nice! Such a great improvement over the as delivered look of the auto shifter! And with using the factory upgrade part too! I recently got this bezel for our 5-speed from Mr."KC" myself. Yes it was just a little spendy, but we got it just before the big price increase! When I saw one of these in a new Stang displayed on the dealer's showroom floor, just knew we had to have one in our own CalStang! This completely changes the console area and makes the stock shifters look right. Most excellent looking mod!! Trust that someone at FoMoCo, like Mr. Jeff sees this one too!! "Good Job". "RC"

I have to admit the bezel dresses up the console nicely. The orginal black trim being flat, square edged and no attention to detail made it look stark and cheap. I was considering at some point getting a satin aluminum applique for the top of the entire console. Now I do not want it at all. I think I will look for the right trim insert to highlight the cupholders. I will eventualy get a satin aluminum e-brake handle as well. However it has the ugliest bulkiest e-brake lever I have ever seen.
