Interior Question

Is there any possible way to change the front seats in the mustang?

I like them but I hate the cheap leather that Ford has used. I only have 5,500 miles on it and theyre already starting to crack and for some reason on the right hand side of my driver sear and the top left side of the drivers sear it looks the foam has moved and doesn't look too appealing.

Would there be a way to swap the seats for something else without using seat covers?

Also, whenever I wash my car I always clean the interior. I used to use Meguiars for the leather and plastic, but for the plastic I have switched to ArmorAll. Well anyway, around what miles will I see the steering wheel start to look worn? Is there a way to preserve it without putting on a cover?

Only reason I am asking is because their leather and I like the non-cover look. I would feel bad having leather seats and a wheel and not be able to utilize it.

Moved to the interior mods section since you want to swap the seats. You might want to check the car care section regarding your car care questions.

armor all is bad, 25 year old technology wrapped in new bottles is all it is. meguires lether cleaner if used too much is bad. 3-4 times per year is all you want. As long as you dont sweat on your seats, a good sealer twice a year is all you really need.

any plastic cleaner/protectant is crap IMO. get a seperate cleaner that isnt doesnt fade the color then apply a seperate sealer. Zaino is worth it if you have the money. Just my 2 cents. Using zaino 3-4 times per year and i have never had any issues with leather seats or plastic faiding or buildup (like armorall)

Ever looked into Katskinz or other leather replacements to change the upholstery on your seats? If your foam is damaged, it shouldn't be hard to change it on one seat. Best of both worlds, seats you like with leather that's better quality. Recovering the seats isn't supposed to be that hard if you get one that's premade for your exact seat. Although you need to make sure the cover is able to support a side-impact airbags if you have them.

Outside of that, I've always like the reclinable Corbeau seats. Nice and not totally insane for a new seat.

No non leather products please! New leather should be protected and then maintained with water based cleaners or maintenance products. The key is to keep leather clean and prevent any build up of dirt or oils.

+1 on water based. THe oil make make it look all shiney and pretty, but will ruin it over time, especially when the sun hits it for an extended time.

Good luck with the search.
