Interior panel repair help?

All,

I'm a little OCD about my car like most of you. I bought the car used, and there are some interior scratches that just bug the hell out of me.

I heard that FoMoCo sells interior paint that actually covers up the blemishes quite well. Has anybody tried this? If such a thing doesn't exist, is the only option to buy replacement panels?

no such magical paint. You will have to replace the panels Id say. believe it or not on another car I have I tried a wax/cleaner and elbo grease (gently) and actually removed the scratches enough to allow them to blend in to the grain there already.

OCD, huh?

Then this will keep you up nights:

Not only can you not legally wash your car by hand here (due to the drought)...and I hate running my vert through harsh automated car washes....so in 2 years my baby has been washed...oh....3 times....waxed once.

But there has been some sort of light tan, square piece of something hanging down from under the passenger side dash since I bought my stang...I can see the corner of it....peeking...but I am just to lazy to get down there and find out what it is. Just poking out.....daring me to either pull it down or tuck it back.....just gently waving back and forth as I drive.

I was talking to a guy once who said he had some blemished removed from his dash at the dealer (it wasn't a mustang but I think this still applies). There are these guys that work out of their vans that go to various dealerships to touch up trade-ins so the dealer can re-sell them. Apparently they work magic and do it right there in the parking lot. You could try asking a dealer about those guys and seeing when they'll be around.

I'm interested in this too if anyone knows. I want the black/charcoal panels underneath the steering column, and glovebox areas. Can they be purchased at a Ford dealership?

Thank you!

I was starting to think no one read my comment...

But the product seems interesting...it is just hard to imagine it working...

Maybe I will give it a shot...thanks again.

The problem with that tsb's paint is that if it good enough to retain the plastics grain pattern,
it will probably also retain the scratch marks in the plastic as well. That's the way I read it unless you can fix the scratch first.

wash your car in the garage that way no one will seee you and won't turn you in. Probably use less water than the autowash.

I think I'm going to contact a vendor like KC and see if he can hook me up with some panels.
