hi all,

I've been a member for a while but this is my first post. I have an 05 Black GT with the interior sport upgrade package (not my choice, wanted full version). I wanted to switch my a/c ***** to the UPR billit slimline ones with the blue illumination. I have 2 questions:

1. can the illumination color of the odometer be changed? the stock color is green but i'd like to change it to blue if possible and not to difficult. otherwise i'd have to go with the green illumination on the UPR a/c *****

2. which finish matches the stock interior? some websites I've seen say the polished version matches and others the satin. I called UPR but the salesman didn't know. I told them I'd check here and get back to them, as I knew someone here would know.

thanks in advance for the help! by the way this site rules. better than any other mustang forums i've checked out before signing up!

Hey, Angelo.....welcome to TMS>>>>>>
Depends on your build date if you have the harness to get MYColor upgrade and the 6 gauge/cluster. Here's where you'll find the cluster...just pop off the covering just left of the power outlet. If its there, you can upgrade; if it's missing, then you can't buy the harness separately....see the sticky post for "MYColor Retrofit Instructions" in the Interior & Audio Mod section. It'll cost about $500 for install and labor for this. But check to see if you have the harness first before doing anything!! Good luck!
Edit.....the red/blue wires go to the Viper Security system, not the harness.

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to check it out! I got my car the first week in February so the build date is early. It was supposed to be the dealers showroom GT but when I came in looking to purchase, not finance or lease, a black GT they gave it up. I know that sounds pompus but I just mean that's why they let me have it. Been saving for a while for this bad boy!

I've had trouble finding a dealer locally to do the upgrade to my Stang. Finally found one about 60 mi. away. They quoted me about $510 for labor and parts, and said to leave the car with them for a day. Not sure when I'm going to do this. Have to save up some for it.
Good Luck with yours!

Note he asked about the color of the odometer. That's gonna be green, even with the "My Color" gauges.....

I wasn't aware of that not changing colors, too. I haven't done the upgrade yet and I don't know that much about what changes colors and what doesn't. Thanks for the info.
