Well I installed most of my system this weekend (Head Unit, Amps and Sub). I am still waiting for my new speakers to arrive so I haven't put them in yet (just running the stock speakers at the moment). Everything went smoothly, no major challenges. I think my amp rack turned out pretty well. I will probably do some more work to make the sub blend into the trunk a little better.

System Details:
Pioneer 9600 HU
Infinity Perfect 10.1 Sub
JBL 600.1 Amp
JBL 180.2 Amp
Boston Acoustics Pro60 Components (coming soon)

Here are some pictures:

Looks great. I am jealous, but curious about how you felt about losing the in-dash mp3 changer. That is what is keeping me from going after market. Amp rack looks gorgeous.

I didn't really like the in-dash changer that came with the car anyways. It was nice having the disk changer but it had trouble reading a lot of my CD's whereas my aftermarket deck reads all my CD's properly.

I am assuming the 600x1 is powering the sub, and the 180x2 is for the mids/highs.

Are you not powering the rear speakrs?

I am sure his head unit is powering the rear speakers, or he took them out. Some people just like plain stereo and prefer not to have the 'back fill."

I have a 10" sub I need to install eventually, is your sub box custom built? Is it just a plain square, or did you form it into the corner creface at all?

That, or he is splitting the 2 channel amp (I hope not).

I will be purchasing a set of 3-way components (1", 5.25", 6.5") and rear 5.25's for the back...all powered by a 4 channel with a 10" sub in the back powered by a mono amp. 8 speakers in the cabin, and one in the trunk. ahhh...can't wait!!

Awesome mounting on the amp rack.. probably the best idea Ive seen yet. If I ever get to install my system I may be stealing that idea What are you using to hold it in position... fitted mdf? And how to you expect the amps to handle being enclosed like that, think having them overheat in all that carpets going to be a problem?

No rear speakers. I don't like the sound of rear fill. Just my opinion. Also makes it cheaper to build a system

No problems with overheating at all. I had a similar setup in my old car for 3 years and never had a problem.

I made a metal strap to hold it in. If you flip down your rear seats, in between the two seats there is a bolt. I attached one of a thin metal strip to that bolt and then screwed the other end into amp rack. I take a couple more pics with the cover off so you can see it in more detail.

Ya I am just going to have mids and highs. Then the 10" sub in the trunk provides enough bass for my liking.

Sorry about the pictures going up and down. My ISP switched their website hosting service. So they keep blocking the pictures when the bandwidth is exceeded.
