You can't make the boost gauge functional on our cars because the computer doesn't monitor boost , only the GT500's do. My joke was that the boost gauge is a short sweep one and only reads boost and not vacuum , so when my S/C isn't producing boost and my full sweep gauge is reading a negative vacuum number the gauge in the cluster is correct

If your question about cost was about making the gauge in the cluster functional , as I said it can't be done easily or cheaply , if at all. When I got the GT500 cluster from Tousley , I believe it wasn't anymore than a regular GT IUP cluster. My car is an early 05 and had the harness that was mentioned above , so all I had to do was order the switch when I ordered the cluster. If you order it from Tousley they will put your mileage in it before sending it out. If you have an 07 or later , then you can just plug it in and nothing else should need to be done. Since mine is an 05 and I don't have the TPMS I would get the warning at start up. I had to take it to a dealer and have them download the cluster info from the old one and then upload it into the new one , they charged me an hours labor. I wanted the GT500 cluster since the tach is on the right hand side and the speedo goes up to 160 MPH , it doesn't bother me that the boost gauge isn't functional ...

Thanks for the heads-up.

So I checked behind the front panel, and I do have the harness so I think I will do the swap.
But I have one question : are the V6 and V8 clusters the same ? Can I install a V6 cluster on my GT ?
As well, does it matter if the cluster comes from a MT or AT ?
thanks

As far as I know, the engine or transmission shouldn't make any difference. The rpm redline will show differently, but that doesn't really matter.

Yes that's right, and the top speed isn't the same as well, 120 for v6 and 140 for v8.
So I'll take the v8 gt one

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it makes a difference if it is a 6 vs an 8.

Probably, anyway I'll take the regular v8 one with the onboard computer.
Do you guys know where I can find the radio bezel with the 3 buttons for the computer ?

There should be a fake switch plate in front of where you found harness , you take it out and put the new switch back in place of it ...

Yup.

A new switch if you buy it new is $80. You can get it for half that Iused I'm sure.

2005 and 2006 should be the same, unless that's when they started using TPMS. But I'm thinkin' that was 2007. Could be wrong though. In either case, it says the auction has already ended...Were you the buyer?

nope. we can install a gt cluster in a V6 with no issues other then the redline on the tach is different. i`m not sure, but i also dont think the speedo will read above 120 even though the cluster does. outside of that its the same cluster, same wire harnesses ect.

man, i think my switch from ford with the cluster was around $50. guess it went way up too

the reason i had to reflash my 05 cluster was my car doesnt have abs. i had the service brake message in the window and the warning light stayed on till it got flashed. not sure about the changes in 07

The only reason you need to do anything other than plug it in , is if the new cluster has options turned on that you car doesn't have. I believe the only one is the 07 TPMS and since my car is an 05 it got the warning. It only occurs at start up , so if you can live with hitting the reset button then you don't have to do anything else , otherwise you need to take it to a dealer to reset the options ...

Again, thank to all of you for this great upgrade, I love it
