Hello all,

I just picked up a 05 GT with a shaker 1000 stero in it. I am looking to put in a Double DIN In Dash Navigaiton system that will let me use the factory Shaker 1000 amps and speakers. When I go to someplace like Hi-fi buys or Best Buys they say no problem. If I go to a Custom Stero shop they tell me there is no kit to convert an after market stereo to work with the Shaker 1000 only the Shaker 500. I call Crutchfield but they didn't have anything on the mustang listed. Anyone out there put a navigation system in a mustang with the shaker 1000 yet. and have a part number for me? any comments on what they put in likes or dislikes

You need the following harness-Metra 70-5521. $15 It is marked as Ford 03-up Amp Harness. It comes with two harnesses, the main one and a second smaller one for the subs. Crutchfields sells them, and I would bet money that all of the car stereo places that said there is not a conversion kit sells them.

Won't get in to the what is better conversation. Because I guarentee that whatever someone has, that is what is best to them.

 

well since the 07's are going to have the in dash nav, with late availability, I would just wait and see what ford offers as they are the ones with the 1000 shaker, so I am sure you can have both. Good luck

 

I'm thinking of the Pioneer Nav too. CC has a promotion right now with free install.
