My iTunes is converting my MP3s and installing ID3 tags ver2.2. Does anyone know the correct version.

I have ripped my iTunes MP3 files to CD and I don't seem to get the track, albumm or artist name when I use the text button. It shows a name on the default settings, but I think that is filename rather than track name.

Thanks in advance

Ian

I've wondered the same thing, although I could swear I have some v1 and some v2 tags where it shows up and some where it doesnt in both versions. Guess to truely find out I'll have to burn a bunch of combinations and see what I get. Maybe I'll try this tonight and see what I find.

Well, did a quick test
Burned 3 mp3's to a disc

1. ID3V1 Tag
2. ID3V2 Tag
3. ID3V1 and ID3V2 tags

Only track 1 was recognized by the shaker 1000, the other 2 only could display the file name. They said no atrist no title, etc etc. All 3 play fine, just looks like if we want to use the tag functionality we can use only v1 and nothing else. Kinda sucks since I think most of my mp3's have both v1 and v2 tags.

Cheers for testing. I tried to perform the same tests today, however, I went and used a CD-RW disc for the first time. The Shaker tried to read it and just spat it out in horror. It then decided to spit all my other CD-Rs and real audio CDs out too Tried all sorts to correct it, in the end I had to remove the earth from the battery....guess I could have taken the fuse out.

Thanks again though
