I May Have Found My Gauge Pod

Found this on the Shelby site. It is supposed to be released this month and is available without gauges for $129.00. What guages would you put in a non-supercharged car? I don't have IUP so oil pressure, battery and

Also I would probably go with autometer gauges. Any recommendations on which style and best prices? The pod is precut for 2 5/8 inch gauges.

on the shelby site it gives you the right guages WORD OF ADVISE these pods only accept a 2 and 5/8ths guage, that is an odd size, most companies do not carry this size guage so be careful

No IUP? Wow I never realized that- so you don't have MyColor either? What color is your stock illumination? That would determine what series of gauges to go with in order to help them blend with the current lighting. I would do voltage, oil pressure, and water temp. And like Ira said, make sure you find and purchase the correct size; that is odd.

Nope, my car is IUP lite! They offer a pod with gauges for $399 but I'm not sure I need a oil temp and fuel pressure gauge?

Hey Rich, remember that you'll need to get the wiring up thru the dash and into that cluster...... unless the cluster extends all the way back to the windshield, likely you'll have to drill holes in the dash pad and snake them up thru it. Just a heads up, don't want to see you purchase something only to turn around and sell it.

Good point Tom. I'll probably pass because of that and I just don't care for the SOS pillar pod. I don't need no stinkin' gauges anyway!

i say go with the one from CDC looks alot better and goes all the way back to the windsheild and can use a 2 and 1/16th guage which any companie carries that is not to say that Autometer or any other company does not make a 2 and 5/8ths guage it is just that not many people stock that size but almost all companies stock the 2 and 1/16th guage

An oil temp gauge is good to have. It is as equally important as a water temp gauge, if not more. Reason: if you lose water (ie-hose comes loose), your water temp gauge may not rise, because there is no water to read. However, your oil temp will rise.

Also, I hate seeing "duplicate" gauges in cars. Eventhough our water temp gauge may not be accurate, it is silly in my opinion to have an aftermarket water temp gauge. So, the oil temp gauge settles that issue as well.
