How to wire a trunk release button
man ford must have saved a lot of money by not putting one of these in to begin with
it looks like your instructions were very clear and it's good for those people that wanted an interior trunk release.

Let everyone how you did it. I've been told that it can't be done......

Can't be done my azz
[attachmentid=20040] I'm using one of these.
Dustin - nice write up and thanks for doing the leg work on this simple yet effective mod!!
Both my previous cars had the trunk release button and I do miss it on my '05 GT....I'll probably go the "hidden" route somewhere along the console/underdash area.....I'm also going to check into the Lincoln LS trunk release system (handles/cables) that mount in the trunk - so the seats can not be opened from the interior....don't yet know what would be involved but will take a look and see what I can rig up. For some reason, probably just me - the key fob is just not as useful as having a trunk release button.

Too true Andy - I really like this '05 GT - but in some ways it is really "bare" compared to my 2000 GT.

now what would be nice if you could have the trunk pop open from your keychain remote

I like that particular button myself. Can you tell me where you got it, or is it just a standard button at like a pep boys or something?

I was thinking of ordering the actual trunk release button from an LS or even the 2000 GT had one - yellow button with black surround....not too stealth though!

I don't understand the purpose of hiding the button. So how do you lock the rear seats? If a thief really wants or knows what you have in your trunk they will just punch out the trunk lock on the lid with one strike.
