How/where did you mount your amps?

I'm looking for some new ideas. On the back of the seats won't work for my new amps (Infinity 5706a and 610a, gotten for $175 total) 'cuz they're too big. I'm thinking about simply bolting them to the underside of the rear deck (I know about the supposed cooling issues, but I've done it for years with no problems). Just wondering what you guys have done to solve the issue and keep the trunk usable.

I place mine on the driver side all the way to the back of the car between the rear tire fender well and the back of the car. Perfect fit for my amp?

These amps are too long. I should've gotten the PDX's or some other full range D's, but the deal was too good on these.

Keep ''em coming, guys.

Under the rear deck for me.... got some old school amps from years ago that kick butt... MTX Blue Thunder 275 and a Memphis Audio (original series LOL) class D sub amp. Both have been hanging from the rear deck for a year now, and I jam HARD everyday to Tool, etc.

No issues, plus I can just unplug my sub box and remove it for trips, tracks, etc. Usually I go custom and trim everything in because it does for sure look nicer, but I wanted something more functional in this car.

Tom, that's what I was thinking on these. The amps work surprisingly better than I expected, but I want to button up my install this weekend so I can redo my door woofers. I'm biting the bullet and breaking out the heat gun for true subwoofers in the front. The midbasses I was using didn't have enough *****. I'll have these in the doors soon. http://www.lorentz-audio.com/page/LA...129661d3ced223

Good luck with those, they look like great units. Funny, I went the other route... I installed Eclipse PointSource 6.5"s in the lower door, and 5.25" in the upper door along with drop-in 5x7"s in the rear deck, which I bolted in from the bottom up so I don't have to pull that rear deck again if they blow LOL. For what I listen to, I needed alot of mids and highs to keep up with the set of Rockford 12's in the trunk. It doesn't sound the best without the subs, but I hardly ever take the box out so who cares.

I put mine under the rear deck but I made some stand offs so that the amp is still orientated right side up.

I'm still considering that. I got the new ones on the rear seats, but I don't like it. They are safely attached until I decide what I want to do.

Any pics of them mounted under the rear deck? I am thinking of moving mine so I can fold the seats down if needed.

Alpine PDX-4.100 4 Channel Digital Amplifier

You guys mounting on the deck. Any problems with this? I have an Alpine PDX-4.100 that only weighs 6.5 pounds and the rear deck looks like a good spot.

I'm thinking about mounting it to a board and then to the deck. Or should I just mount it directly to the deck?

Any problems running this amp upsidedown?

That amp does tend to get pretty hot under use, but it should be fine. It has agood thermal protection, so if it does shut off, you can always move it later. I LOVE the little I.C.E power based and other full range D-Class amps. Hella power in a tiny package. Actually, that PDX just MAY fit under the passenger seat in the front if you want to try it. It may also fit on the firewall behind the dash on the passenger's side, or you could remove the SHaker 500 amps from the driver's footwell and mount it in there. I prefer a stealthy install over bling and show. It helps me keep my stuff.

Yea, this amp is solid for it's size and weight. Good idea about mounting behind the dash or footwell. I had originally planed to mount under the passenger seat, but I was just looking at all the options. The blue light from the amp lighting the trunk would look kinda cool tho. I think they are calling that "ambient lighting"

My Infinity amps have a large blue strip that glows, as did the AUras they replaced. Neat, but useless. I may add some trunk lighting by way of some computer LED's. something like this.

Easily hidden in a car, and already 12V.
