Hello all

Need some help please, I will be installing my Pionner AVIC-Z1 early next week and I think I see how it will all go in my head but need someone to clarify it for me.

OK so I take the Shaker 500 out, remove the plugs on the back of the radio,
Use a Metra 70-5521 harness and that will plug into the back of the connections remaining from the Shaker 500 and then crimp/solder up the wires from the metra to the harness included with the pioneer? Also hook up the tweeters using the 2nd connector on the metra harness.

Does this sound right to you? Putting the radio in and out isnt a problem its just the wiring I am worried about.

Also does anyone know where I can find the wire colors for the metra so I know what wires what to connect to the Pioneer?

Thank you

Stuart

The second connector actually controls the door subs. You will need a Radio Shack 5 volt transformer or your door subs will pop when they turn on. The part number is RS#7805 and costs about $2. This goes on the power wires on the second plug of the metra harness. Radio Shack 7805

Other than that, you got it.

Any ideas of the color coding for the metra harness please? Or an idea of where to find it?

Thank you

Stuart
