GT500 Pedal Covers

I am looking to buy some nice looking pedal covers for my manual stang. I saw these (http://www.americanmuscle.com/gt500-...nual-2005.html) Gt500 ones and they look real nice but are a bit pricey. Anyone have these & how are they?

I've got the same ones, but you can get them on ebay for 36.00. They look nice, no foot slipping issues. The brake & clutch pedals are a PITA to install, they replace the stock one. Gas covers the stock pedal w/3M tape.
And, yes my carpet needed vacuuming when I took pic.

do you think that I would be able to install these myself or should I get a professional to do it, mind you I am a noob when it comes to working on cars.

You'll be able to install.Use a soap/water mix when you install the brake/clutch, makes it easier to slip the pedals on. 409 or similar will work also.

Do what I did, boil the pedals, makes the install very easy.

Listen to what Larry is telling you. This is a great deal on E Bay. You cannot beat these for 36 bucks for the manual set, or 32 of the auto set. He turned me on to them as well. There are a ton of retailers that are buying these, then turning around and selling them for 80 to 100 bucks. You can install them yourself, no issue. Also, along with the soap and water suggestion, soak the clutch and brake covers in very hot water for about 10 minutes prior to install....Works well....

The pedals on ebay are from the vendor for Ford. I buy several of these from them and they also have the Harley pedals from the trucks as well. The company is AAC.

I got them too. They dont give any more grip than the regular pedals, but they looks sweet. If you want a good pedal that sticks to the foot, go for ultimatepedals. I really liked them, but I was not so fond of the look, they looked like they belonged in a supercar. The GT500 ones look much more "factory"

Wow. $36 for those one eBay? Now for those who have the ones from eBay. Is that 2 way tape idea "safe"? Sounds... risky. Or is that how all those Gt500 pedals are?

I used the 3M tape with some prep work and never been an issue in a year of owning the car. I love mine, for the looks that is. OEM and factory.

It's only the gas pedal that's 3M'ed on. And it has a recess in the back of the new pedal that fits perfectly. I prepped my old pedal by cleaning it very good, then used rubbing alcohol. After I applied the new pedal, I put a nice thick rubber band around it, and left if for about 24 hours or so....

Mine have been on for over a year I believe, and I have never had an issue....Yes, it is a killer deal.....

I never boiled mine and they when on easy. You need a short snubby screwdriver, place one side on the pedal then just work around the edge prying the rubber over the edge of the pedal. Took me about 1 mimute for each. They have been on for over 9 months with no problems.

AAC is the vender who offers them for 36.00 starting price for manuals,32.00 for autos.
Doesn't appear to have any current auctions, just wait a few days & they will show up. The ones you're looking @ are the same with mark up prices.
I saw a set on there about a week ago that sold for 36.00
