GT 500 Dead Pedal
GT 500 Dead Pedal
Just got an e-mail back from CDC. Apparently they were delayed because of moving to a new facility. They have the prototype for the GT 500 dead pedal to match their other pedal cover sets, and will have the dead pedal for sale "soon". I don't know what that translates into in terms of a date. But I asked them to let us know with a post here on the Forums.

Everyone gives George at MGW a hard time because he's been telling us for quite a long while that the shifter "is coming." But, at least he's been posting progress on this site, and a lot of people have talked to him about it too.
Meanwhile, CDC has yet to post anything themselves. Instead, members post what CDC's responses were. I've been hearing about a matching dead pedal since last summer. Here's the post:

So, why is it that no one cares about CDC doing this, but makes a big deal when MGW does?
Not trying to rant, just bringing up a point.
Like everyone else, I would like to see a matching dead pedal...but in the meantime, I'm glad I got (and kept) the Saleen dead pedal.
I'm doing my best to pester the guys at CDC. I suppose they are not going to make a fortune selling these things, but one would hope they are a company that is responsive to their customers. And as a group, we are very good customers.
It's been a bad couple of months for me. I'm waiting for the CDC dead pedal, also for a bunch of underhood accessory covers from Shelby Autos, and for Midwest Autogear to make a strut tower cover to clear my STB.
The aftermarket for our cars seems to be much slower than it was for the SN95 platform. I was seeing a lot of stuff made available pretty quickly for my '96 GT.

Totally disagree. There's no way the SN95 or anyother platform compares to the S197. Ford was working with aftermarket companies before the car was even out. Just for comparison sake let's take a look at one vendor (CDC) go to there website and 95% of the products for the S197 were out by late 05 early 06. Additionally, it's been said in many magazines as well as other online sources that the S197 helped revive the aftermarket. Look at all the new companies that never before made stuff for Mustangs now trying to cash in. I can't believe your saying this just because CDC, one company hasn't made a stupid dead pedal. There are several other companies that have complete pedal sets. With that said should CDC make a dead pedal? Yes.
The company that makes the pedal kits for CDC and Ford is AAC. They have kits for all types of cars, just no dead pedal for our 05+ Mustangs. Email says they are working on it, but thats what they said last October.
Hey Leo, back off. So I'd like to get the dead pedal. So, I'm a little impatient. I don't understand how you think I'm condemning the entire aftermarket industry by writing that it seemed to me we got bolt ons quicker ten years ago. Maybe we did, maybe we didn't. I never did a scientific analysis or kept records of product development dates. I could be wrong, but I don't think I deserved being jumped on for what I wrote.
With that said, should CDC make that dead pedal faster? In my opinion, yes.

In my opinion the gt500 pedals are cheesy, slip ons etc, why not spend some money and get some custom made to your likings, ponies, GT, Inserts or without, polished or not, flanged or not, heel toe etc. To worry about this cheesy pedal is like cheesy, oh did I say like, LOL.
Ultimate pedals, the name says it all
autovation, etc. many companies already have the best looking pedals and dead pedals. Just because it came on a gt500 dont make them awesome, LOL. Oh yah theres dont glue on the accellerator etc. glue a pedal on are you kidding me.
