Glovebox light switch

I see on some Ford Parts lists a glovebox light switch for 05-07 Mustangs. I was not aware that a light was even an option. Does anyone have one of these? How does it install? Since they don't list it for an 08, is there a reason it won't work?

I'm going to check with my dealer's parts guy on Monday. If it is like the one I had in my '96 it would be fairly easy to install. It had an integral light as part of the switch.

Since it wasn't very expensive, and no one replied with any other information, I ordered the "Glove Box Light Switch" from Team Ford in Las Vegas. What I got was the metal receiver that the glove box latch hooks to to close the door. It was in a Ford parts bag and labled "Switch". Perhaps my understanding of English has been left behind by some modern terminology, but I fail to understand how this is considered a light switch! Don't waste your money.

LOL! Thanks! I don't have any thing in my glove box..cause of no light

Edit: I use rag on BMW owners cause they didn't have glove box lights and vanity mirrors lights.. floor well lights, side door lights ect..ect...All my other Fords had them, but the Mustsang doesn't.....So they laugh at me me

I mounted two wide angle LEDs at the sides of the plastic liner and tied the power to the map light. Works fine for me.

Sorry about that Beargap. I had intended to follow up but got sidetracked. I did e-mail a Ford dealer and asked about it, but got no reply. At least it's good that you didn't waste too much money. I think it would be pretty difficult to try and adapt a combined latch and light from an earlier Mustang. I thought about that, but the latch/light in my '96 was set up completely differently from the '05.

I had a computer hard drive full of MP3's, 1 small flashlight, and an ink pen in mine.
