Takes the shifter from being stunning to a regular car real fast. That 2 dollar savings was really worth it! This is where spending 2 bucks on this and a couple of bucks somewhere else and for ten dollars in savings and you end up regular in stead of exceptional. Was the chrome ring suppose to be standard in all auto stangs or part of the IUP?

I want the Chromed Trim around the Shifter to go with the Chrome Air Vent Rings! It was supposed to be part of the IUP, Non IUP Cars have a Black Shifter and Trim, but I guess it cost a couple cents more to Chrome the trim ring or something? It just looks Cheap without it being chromed.

I also noticed that newer pic's I have seen of the Headliner on the GT's are the same old Felt like we have had forever, When I saw the 05's in person before they were released, GT's had a "Woven" type headliner like this first pic, that looked Great, but now it's just Plain Boring Felt? What Gives?

Almost every change is based on $. Every nickel saved is $9500 based on 190,000 Mustangs produced a year. Saving $2.63 a car is half a million to the bottom line! It is obvious why every manufacturer does this.

It's not the same exact felt that was in the previous model year. My 00 Mustang had ugly fuzzy type felt. The 05 is smoother and looks a lot better.

All are autos with IUP like the second pic or is that an exception? It's been know to happen that the wrong parts get put on a car. A friend of mine had a '94 Taurus SHO and his car the regular SHO door trim (black-out) on the drivers side but the passenger side had the regular Taurus chrome trim. The funny thing is he didn't notice it for months.

I don't agree. If you trim those dollars that eventually add up, you do that where it isn't noticed. In this case the only purpose for the bright finish is for effect and looks then the couple of bucks per car is an investment in the overall selling of the car. If you switched washer solvent brands and saved 50 cents a car its worth it. Or a different printer to print the owners manual and could save 2 bucks a book that would be fine, but not if you went from leather bound to vynal if you're selling high end. So some cost savings are OK and others take away from the product. This ring is taking away from the product.

It's just the angle of the pic. It has the same bend in both pics.

Sorry for using your pics as an example, but I just noticed the differences when you posted the pic's. It's still a great looking car, but it's little things like this that can make or break a car.

So does your headliner look like the pic' below or is it solid? I really liked the "Woven" look, it reminded me of the perforated healiners cars had in the, 50's 60's and 70's.
