Emergency Brake Boot

I see that the original thread is gone, but that is OK, since the title was misleading.

Anyway, I had sent out quite a few boots, but I am quite interested in seeing pics of the ones for whom I also made a shift boot for. And how is the new material I found. Does it match better? Did one for a Shelby GT500. Did the thread match?

Pics? I'm really curious. I'll post some of what is in my car later.

Cheers

I got one. It's a great piece, well made, but... my life is messed up and I can't get the dang thing installed because I suck.

Not the fault of Jim, just me.

Soon(tm)! I promise! Pics will ensue, truly!

Oh, it's not that. It's ME. Unless you can offer to take over my job and family for a bit so I can work on the car...

I will email you the instructions again when I get home. No glue is needed, as the velcro tape will hold it in place.

I do want to see pics of the shifter boot, though.

Wonderful product, thanks!

i don't have the newer version, but i will post a pic of the old one i bought from you. in the beginning, my handle wouldn't go all the way down, but i guess the material broke in and loosened up after a while. if ray man's one is the newer version, the material does look nicer than the one i got. i like that his grain matches the rest of the interior a lot better.

ray man, what is that red ring you have in your cup holder? i have been wanting to dress up that area, but i would like something subtle. yours looks really classy.

jim010, do you think you would be able to make some sort of vinyl covering for the black plastic trim that goes around the auto shifter housing? not sure how it would look, but i want to dress that area up a bit and i am not really a fan of those billet aluminum ones i have seen so far.

anyways, here is my cover. overall, i am very happy with it:

The red circle in Rayman's cup holder is the ambient lighting available in the Mustang from 2008 on. I retro fitted the system into my 05 car. I did do a write up, but I don't know if the thread is still around.

As for covering the shifter housing, are you meaning the trim piece that snaps in place to cover the gap between the console and teh shifter box?

I have been playing around with doing a cover for the black dash pad in our cars, as well as to cover our e-brake handles, but I haven't really had much time as of late to figure out patterns and test fit them.

Cheers

thanks. ok, i didn't see that red ring in the overhead shot so i thought he added it after. i guess it is black when the lights are off. too bad.

yes. that is the part i am talking about. not sure how hard it would be to make one. if you ever decide to make it, i would be interested.

if you made a dash pad cover, i am sure you would be able to sell quite a bit. i already have it in my car as part as the premier trim upgrade option. much nicer than the hard plastic base ones.

You can retrofit it. I did. I'm happy with it.

I am working right now to connect the ambient lighting switch to control the lighting for the door sills that light up the lettering "Mustang". I'll post when I have a solution.

That would likely be a one time thing. I could do it for you, but you'd have to send me the part to cover it. Would cost the same as chroming the piece (which is what I did).

I'm hoping to have something by spring/summer. There is a problem with making the hole that goes around the defrost vent look tidy and OEM. Also securing it at the windshield is an issue. I'll figure it out.

Cheers

Thanks for the link!

Now, I had sent out quite a few in the last couple months, including some shifter boots. I'd really like to see how these turned out. After all,

I've got this handle on my brake too. What is the deal on these? Price and how to install? I like it!
