Eclipse AVN5435 Install
I justed wanted to get a thread started for this navigation head unit because there seems to be a lot of interest. Having a navigation system in my Accord I realized how much every car should have one. I ordered a AVN5435 off of eBay Monday and hope to get it by the holiday weekend. I ordered a kit and wiring harness from Crutchfield and received that yesterday. I will be doing my best to take pictures and document my experience for those interested in the unit.
If I learned one thing helping my friend out with his stero install, it is that good luck is just as neccesary as the stero itself. True it was my first install. Oh well anyways
GOOD LUCK.
Now that I look back apon the experience it was fun. I made him a custom box. Turns out the guy is an electrical genius but cant build for sh.t

ditto...would enjoy a full write up and pics on an install of this unit. Curious on size/shape of gps sensor, and wiring the speed/distance feed. Looks like you got a pretty good deal too. Are you going to add the rear camera too?
I swore that I would never hack up another car and I love the shaker 500...but between the dvd, touchscreen and navigation this unit makes it very tempting. Eclipse makes great stuff...

The seller told me today that yesterday he shipped it 2 day FedEx and gave me a tracking number. It looks like I might get it tomorrow afternoon. I'm pretty excited. For those who want to know I paid $1465.00 for the unit new in box. It was $35 to ship and $10 for insurance on top of that. $1510.00 isn't bad considering Crutchfield sells the AVIC-D1 for $1599.000.
If there are questions anyone can think of that they might want answered let me know. It will be a lot easier for me to look at or take pictures of before I install the unit.
