Dress up the door lock pins in the doors

I never did like how there was just a simple hole that the door lock pin poked through. What I did was buy the black gromets from a Ford Fivehundred. These are trim rings that go around the lock pin. In order to fit the gromets, I had to enlarge the holes. Then the gromets get pushed into the hole.

It had just occurred to me to post this simple mod. I will give you pictures right away.

OK, here are the pictures.

I don't know the part numbers, but it only cost me $3.00.

Remember, these are gromets for the door locks for a Ford 500. I think it just adds a little bit of much needed detail. Could even have them chromed, if you like.

Cheers

Nice mod, you can go to the hardware store or parts store and get gromments that go thru the firewall in different sizes.
You might find some that fit perfect and would be cheaper than Ford.

No, I don't know the diameter size, but because the plastic is soft, I just scrapped the hole larger with a knife until the gromet fit snug.

Nice mod. I like it.
Now if someone would just make some aftermarket door pins that actually screwed down as far as they're supposed to, I'd be all set.
