But you inspired me to grow the ***** to try to custom fabricate a Xenarc or Lilliput panel into the double DIN hole and have a serious OEM look, along with external amps/etc. Progress so far: I've had a replacement plastic console cover sitting on my shelf for the last few months, waiting for me to do something with it. I'll let you know how that goes.
The custom fab was my first. I did a lot of sand/fill/sand work and went through a lot of primer, just takes pratice. A good winter project.

Still working on the new software front end as well.

I saw this about a month after I finished. It's pretty slick and I'm sure I could have used it somewhere. It has lcd readout, volume controls and some buttons:

I'm beginning to reconsider now.. I would like to have the carputer ready before the weekend of December 15th... how long did it take for you to attach the LCD to the plastic panel - and make it look nice?

Looking at mine, I'm almost positive the production models are a molded ABS plastic. It seems very light, even for fiberglass.

Nice lithium power tools
Thanks.. I'm selling NiCD craftsman power tools on eBay to pay off my stang modding... http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZstatic4

But I had to get a set of Lithium tools for myself, because you know what they say.. "don't get high on your own supply."

I would like to see more photos of the amp rack and how much room it
takes in the trunk.

I would like to see photos of the sub box as well. I have the 2 pioneer
8" flat subs in the door now and was thinking of doing a flat 12" Pioneer
in the trunk. I have 2 alpine amps on the back of the seats now but a
amp rack could be cool it it dose not add that much weight and take
much room.

If you look in way in the deep end of the trunk, by where the seats are, you will see a flat metal triangle intrude into the trunk space. This is about 4" from the back of the seats at the top of this area. My amp rack goes between that metal triangle and the seats.

As for the sub box, you can get an unloaded one at crutchfield.com for about $130. Look for "Scosche enclosure" for the mustang. It's custom made for the 05-08 mustangs and fits in an awkward space to the right, taking up very little practical room.. I have a giant Alpine Type-X SWX-1243D in that enclosure and it fits fine... I think you should opt for that enclosure + any sub you want, instead of getting a flat sub... just my opinion.

Guys, I got 3 samples of that automotive carpet. The "black" was actually solid black - like the color of my black interior black. The grey "heather," is an almost perfect match. Check it out for yourselves:

After new trunk liner:

(Before):

Here's the link to buy this trunk liner. It's really cheap. I bought $20 worth, and that gave me 4.5 feet by 12 feet!http://www.yourautotrim.com/darkheather.html

Not sure if this is the same as the ops (links no longer work), but here's the measurements from my install, and a link to my installation thread.
