Cushioned center console arm rest

The center console arm rest on my car is rock hard. Are there any cushioned ones out there?

Your best bet is to take the lid off, and remove the undercover from the lid. Go to Joann Fabrics and buy a small piece of foam or carpet padding, and a small piece of high grade black vinyl. Put the foam on the lid, wrap it in the vinyl, and reattach the piece to the underside to hold it tight and make everything look clean.

EMAIL KEV AT CLEVPARTS@AOL.COM. He sells the one pictured below which is from the factory with the new 07 premier interior upgrade. It's wrapped in leather and cushioned. I can't put the price here but I'll let you know its cheaper than getting it customized and it will have that oem look to it.

The '07 padded console lid is nice but i don't think it's leather -looks and feels like vinyl to me.

You can pick up a Redline leather cover here for $60... http://www.redlinegoods.com/Mustang05armrest.shtm. I've been thinking about picking up some padding and adding it to mine, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Man, I can't decide which to go with... I like the Redline Goods black one with the red stitching, but the Ford one *looks* a little better as far as the wrapping of the lid... Anyone with the Redline Goods one have any pictures? I have seen the ones on the Redline site, but I would like to see a couple more...

All the pics I've seen of the Redline version had wrinkles along the edges. I've got the 07 PTP version and it is a lot softer than the one that was in my 05 (feels like leather to me), but it is not padded.

I have one from Redline. It is a little bit wrinkly ... at first. Over time, though, the leather stretches and evens out. I've been thinking of putting a pad underneath, too. Maybe that'll be one of my weekend projects.

I love the Redline leather products. Good quality.

It's definitely leather. The armrests, console lid, and dash are the real thing. It's not luxurious Italian leather or anything though.

I definitely agree there, I had one of their auto shifter boots and e-brake boots in my 05 V6. The quality was outstanding!! It's way cool that you can order whatever leather and stitching colors you want too. Glad to hear the console lid smooths out, that was the only item that looked kind of iffy to me in the pictures.

I don't mean to be a doubting-thomas, but why do you all think the parts are leather? The dash looks like leather to me but the console lid and door rests don't.

I think I need the padded arm rest to. I like to rest my hand on the shifter, and the corner of my elbow sits on the corner of the arm rest. Very uncomfortable.

For those who went with the Redline one, what color did you get? Black or Charcoal? It doesn't say which is used in the pictures and I don't want to order it and have it be too light or dark!
