Chrome vent rings...options??
Look, to me they just don't belong. Soooooo, before I destroy them trying to "do it my way" again: Does anyone know of replacements being offered out there yet. Brushed would be awesome. Right now, thinking of painting them.
Idea's......................

But. but............ there the ONLY chrome there. and it's only plastic! There has got to be a better idea.......................isn't there.
I agree regular painting would be a tad tacky, but there has to be a way to tie the interior all together

I may be wrong, but I think the GT500 has satin doesn't it? In talking with Kevin Casey he said you can order just the center vent panel from the GT500, and then take the satin ringed vents out and swap the vents into your black dash panel. If you are looking for something that classes up the interior while keeping the black background - that might be the way to go...
Keep your chrome rings just take them completely off and
clean them with a good paint prep.
When dry give them a few light mist coats of a quality satin clear
polyurathane from a rattle can. I did mine and everybody remarks about them. All my 05' Mustang buddies want me to do this mod for them.
I am going to do six sets at one time just after X-Mas.
I have a small spray booth and can "SET" the paint with low temp heat
in a dust free area.
Unfortunately ....they do not take a good picture. This mod will really
tone down the *BLING BLING* of the cheap plastic chrome rings.
Hint...Try it on just the passanger side one....if you don't like you can CVAREFULLY clean it off.. my 2 cents

I've been thinking the same thing for the last 2 years. I was hoping for something in a gunmetal shade to be released....nothing yet. Painting may be the solution eventually.
Dave - didn't we meet in Zephyrhills about a year ago when you gave me the shift boot? Guess you liked my Redfire!!!!
