ok folks.. I really want to get HID for my blk GT named Lois... now I can get some Philips Ultinon 6000k in 9005 for the fogs but I'm wondering if I could change the wire harness that is stock and repalce it with a different bulb type...ie.. 9004 or 9007, that way I can just use a HID kit that is already made for those particular bulb types.. what do you guys think??.. I mean its just rewiring 3 wires...do you think it would work?? I have that same kit on my 04 Xterra and man that thing is sweet!!!!!

I haven't had a look to see what kind of connectors or bulbs are in there, but as long as they have a plastic base on them it should be easy to splice on a different pigtail for a 9007 bulb.

hmm..i'm wondering if I should try it. maybe just to see if a regular 9007 bulb will work.. have to wait till it warms up a bit.. its still pretty cold here in new york

You guys don't need brights? Flash to pass, warn oncoming cars? bad idea.

If you have to go down this road... I recommend you replace the fogs with driving lights. Put in high output halogens in there. Swing the high beam wires to the fogs - use those for your flashers. Then rewire the connector on the gawd awful new bulbs that ford just had to put in, and install some hack hids.

OR, get the xsciting lighting hids (which are the ones that are going into saleen).

Cheers.

true.. but who knows when those xsciting kits will be available.. actually you can now get what is called a "bi-xenon" kit where you dont lose your high beam.. or i'm just thinking i can run 9005 HID's in the fogs and use then as driving lights.. and when i need to flash someone and so forth then i'll turn on the regular headlights...

I'm leaving mine as is, they're bright enough the way they are, even on the dark roads around here with no street lights.
