Will changing the speakers, such as subwoofers, void the warranty?
Yes, I am under 36k.

I would really doubt it, unless the new speakers caused your headunit to fail (probably not possible). They have to be able to prove that the aftermarket part caused the failure to void the warranty. With just speakers you should be OK. I just orderd some Pioneer TS-A6870R 6"x8" 3-way speakers for my doors and rear deck from Crutchfield, and I am not concerned.

I agree. As long as the aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm, like the factory, there shouldn't be a warranty problem.
Oh, and I installed the same speakers as you, but got them at Walmart for alot less. hehe

I know I could have gotten them a lot cheaper at Walmart and other places, but Crutchfield includes a wire harness and detailed install instructions that were worth the extra dough to me. I'm not very experienced with audio installations.

Are 'Walmart' speakers that much better than the Shaker OEM speakers?

I just threw a couple infinity's in the rear deck. Big improvement. I plan on replacing the door speakers this weekend. I got the 4 speakers off eBay and I ordered wiring harnesses separately from Crutchfield. I saved about $80 by not ordering everything from Crutchfield.

I plan on Infinities front and rear when I get my new Pioneer navigation head unit and new amps. Until then, the Pioneers are a vast improvement over the junkie OEM speakers.

I put those Pioneer A6870R's in the rear of my 96 Probe GT.
I was extremely pleased with them.
Too bad I didn't take them out when I traded it in.
I guess I will be getting new ones for the Mustang.
