Sorry if repost. The search did not get any hits.

Can the sub unit be easily removed and reinstalled. In other words, If I am traveling and need the trunk space, can I just unplug and unscrew the sub box?

I am getting ready to order a GT500 and trying to decide whether to get the 1000 or not.

I have always used aftermarket systems. they are much better and much cheaper than factory. In this case, however, I really don't want to take the car apart. I prob will anyway, but, if I get the 1000 and am happy with it, I may be able to avoid the rattles and scratches that are usually a result of taking the car apart.

Yes, it can be removed by taking out 4 bolts, 2 above and 2 below.

thank you. I think I'll get it and remove it when I need the trunk space.

You could even get some wing bolts or thumbscrews so you can take it out without tools.

That is kinda what I am thinking. I used to install systems when I was in High School for a local Stereo Shop. I used to get pretty creative with stuff like that.

Realistically, I will prob end up with an aftermarket system anyway.
