Base Stereo Upgrades

I have searched and a lot of threads link to old forum pages that don't exist. Anyone with the Base System, what speakers did you go with in doors and rear deck when upgrading? I have never installed component speakers how hard to integrate with factory Head Unit?

I have the base 4 speaker stereo and with the stock head unit I felt the stereo was horrible. After getting the deck replaced with a Kenwood DNX7160, the car installers tuned the radio to the stock speakers and they sounded much much more vibrant. I wouldn't brag home about my stereo hitting hard or anything but it did help tremendously! If you're going to go with replacement speakers then you need to run an amp to really push the speakers to what they were designed to do. I would suggest crutchfield.com to check compatibility and feedback on stock replacements from other people.
