Not to copy the "how to remove your antenna steps" but.
step 1- get in the back seat
step 2- hold drink
step 3- put on seat belt WHILE doing step 2
Step 4- if the drink could "sweat", wrap in napkin
Step 5- hold it between your legs
there's your cup holder.

As long as it's not hot coffee
My '92 vert didn't have cupholders and I did just that. Driving on 81 near Syracuse in a snowstorm at 2am, highway wasn't plowed and car did a 180 and brushed the guard rail. Only damage was I lost my front plate and, well, let's just say the coffee was hot.

Unfortunately, for a trip like that, we would take the four door truck. As much as I HATE not being in my Stang, I cant put anyone in my back seat anymore. I would rather be jealous of others cruising in thier Stangs, than to risk a high speed rearend accident in my Stang.
I have been involved in three in my lifetime. After seeing what happens to the Stang when rearended at 50mph by a raised truck, there is no way anyone goes in the back seat if we are going to be on roads where there is traffic at that speed or higher.
Sorry to be a downer on this one, just IMHO. The chances are you are going to be fine, and in that case, I would attach a cupholder to the side of the cooler. That way, its always there when the cooler is.
For the record, I do have kids, two. My oldest (16) cant fit in the back. (6'5 200lbs) My daughter hates sitting in the back... I also have a coupe, so its no fun sitting in the back, LOL

This is going to sound terrible but, get a child car seat or booster seat with the cupholder built in. Place cooler in car seat, place beverage in cupholder. There's gotta be some cheap carseats around. If you're lucky you may be able to find a booster where you can remove the seat back leaving just the bottom, with a cupholder. Scour Amazon and wally world websites, babies r us too.

Definitely run to wallyworld. They had a booster seat only with 2 cupholders for under 20 bucks. I do believe this would be the best solution. Nothing permanent, nothing tacky.
