Can someone help me. I'm gonna order the Clarion CX501 from Amazon to replace my Shaker 500. I have an 05 Stang. What else do I need?

Crutchfield says you also need PAC Ford Radio Replacement Interface C2R-FRD1. Is this correct??

Can I get away with just getting the Scosche FDK11B 2003-Up Select Ford Harness for Audiophile Sound Systems ?

No you don't need the PAC. The scosche will work just fine. You may want to do the resistor wire in to get rid of the amp pop though.

 

Thanks. I read about the resitor wire to stop the amp pop. I saw somewhere were the installer said you need to use the Pac or else the subs in the door won't work. I just dont want to buy and install all this stuff and lose the door subs.

 

No thats a load of crap. I used the same harness your talking about and my door subs work just fine. They just want to sell you the expensive one.

 

Thanks for the info. Screw the Pac then. I'm gonna go with the Scosche FDK11B, Clarion CX501 and the Metra 95-5812 Double DIN Installation Kit. I can get all that from Amazon for around $205 with free ship & no tax. I'll just pay someone to install it. Can't wait to have bluetooth play music from the iphone. Getting tired of making car mp3 cd's. Us 05 & 06's have no aux input.

 

Sounds like a good deal. Yea not having an aux was a pain. Honestly, the install isnt too bad at all if you are interesed in trying it yourself.

 

how did the install go and what was the cost? i have an 05 also and shaker 500 now has static on all stations so its time to replace. don't have an iphone, have android so i would love bluetooth option. hows it going?
