Can the needles be removed without breaking anything? I'd like to take a closer look at the circuit board and they don't seem to pull off easily.

I believe people have had to pull them off for white faced gauges. They should just pull off.

You get a little (pry) removal tool with the gauge overlay.

Nick,

Do you have any PDFs or other info for how to take the dash apart to get to the gauges? I am thinking of trying to pry off my speedo needle and place it back in because it's a few MPH off.

Also can you do me a favor and let me know when you get your needle off can it be put back on in different angles or does it go only one way? I'd hate to tear apart my dash and find out I can't even move the needle a bit.

Thanks,
Stephen

There are pdfs in the "Issues" forum here, that's what I used. In a nutshell, the dash surround pulls straight out (starting at the side nearest the door), then there are 4 screws holding the gauge cluster in place. You're supposed to deactivate the air bag system before messing with it, I pulled fuse 17 in the passenger kick panel. The gauge cluster lens just snaps in place.

The needles will move on the shafts, but I think the system may sense needle position instead of shaft position while it's on. Not sure about that, though. If I get the needles off, I'll know for sure when I'm putting them back on.

For speedometer error, your best bet would probably be to recalibrate it if you have a tuner (predator or xcal). Mine's a little low compared to GPS, so I'll tweak it with my predator at some point.

Regards,
Nick

Do you know if the black center cover on the needle has to be removed first? They seem to be separate from the red needle.

If anyone has a picture or link to instructions for the gauge overlay installation I'd like to see it.

Thanks,
Nick

Found the PDFs in the Issues forum, thanks Nick. Please post info about the needle position once you get them off. Good luck.
