I just ordered a set of take-off 2010 seat covers from eBay! They should be here within a few days! I really love the 2010 leather with white stitching. So glad I do not have to buy a whole new car just to have this!

Did the leather swap a while ago, installed heated seat kit at that time. Don't bother with hog rings and special pliers that you will never use again. I used the plastic Ty-Wraps in place of the hog rings. MUCH EASIER to work with, same result! Took me about 3 hours to do the first seat, about 1 hour to do the second one. I did not do the headrests, simply bought a used pair on ebay for 25.00. I went from Light Grey to Charcoal Grey. I have the side airbags. Simply disconnect the positive battery cable, then turn on the headlight switch (will discharge any stored power in the electrical system), and then continue to unbolt and unplug the connectors under the seats. Good luck!

I was always taught you should always disconnect the negative cable from the battery before the positive!

I plan to go the zip-tie route as well...

Does anyone know if the 2010 seats have the upgraded side bolsters of the Bullitt/GT500?

Side bolsters are identical going from my former '08 cloth seats to the '10 leather covers.

I got it done!

The factory seat covers can absolutely and very easily be installed without removing the front seats and without having to deactivate the side airbags.

To remove the old bottom seat cover, remove the seat bottom side trim. Afterwards, first unfasten the outer, back then front seat cover tabs from the seat frame. This loosens the seat cover so it is easier to remove the lock tabs of the seat cover bottom located between the seat and the console. Simply reach under the seat towards the console and you can push the locking tab off the seat frame. Installing the new seat cover bottom is reverse procedure of the removal. First stretch the locking tab between the seat and the console and snap the locking tab in place on the frame. Afterwards, you can advance to pulling the seat cover over the rest of the seat bottom. At this stage you adjust the fit of the cover into the velcro channels, then secure the zip ties in place just behind the knee cushion.

Warning!!! When removing the original seat covers take great care that you use you fingers to hold the velcro strips down against the seat foam as you pull the seat cover away from the velcro channel. If you fail to do this, you will pull the velcro strip out of the seat foam channel and tear it away from the seat foam. I had one little mishap and had to use adhesive to reattach it to the channel it sits in.

Also, when you are doing the rear seatback, do not fail to pull the seat back release strap through the holes in the sides of the folding seat back covers. You do not want to accidentally lock the seat back into the latch without a way to unlatch it.

It took me five hours to do this. I took my time to do it right. I am very happy with the installation and I am even happier that I have the black leather with white stitching that I instantly admired years ago on the Ford 427 Concept car. When the 2010 interior came out I died when I saw the new black leather sew pattern and white stitching. Now I have it for a steal!

Someone mentioned on here that the headrest mounting holes for the 2010 do not match up exactly to the earlier model. Is that true? Also, where did you end up getting yours? I want to make sure that I get ones that include the new foam.

There is a very, very slight variation in the headrest holes but absolutely nothing objectionable to me. I always leave the headrests down anyway. I suppose the slight variation could be hidden with some softside velcro to mask it. For $295 I cannot complain...

Only the backrests come with foam with this particular auction. They have cutouts for the side airbag. No other seat foam is provided. I reused my existing foam for all the rest of the seat sections. The new covers fit the original foam of my seats perfectly, so there was no change of the foam contours.

Patience is a virtue! It's worth it to do it yourself so you can save the money for other goodies. There is really nothing complicated about these seat covers. They are a velcro and retention tab install. Just allow yourself a day off to work on it and start early in the day.
