Adding Some Switches and Garage Door Opener

I have the car PC out on the work bench (adding tv, gps ,amp control) while I'm waiting for some exterior and performance parts to arrive.

I decided to add some switches up around the maplights to control the radar detector, etc. While doing that I went ahead and added a button to operate my garage door.

I have the garage door opener working on the car's 12v. I thought I might need to get a 9v regulator, but it has been working fine. I desoldered the button and power connections and added my own wires and button to control the opener. I placed the buttons down by the headlight controls. The second button does not do anything... Yet.

turned out nice, ford should have made the garage door opener standard on the Mustang,
I modified the factory homelink unit out of the visor of a Town Car and installed it in the upper console.

Do you have any further information on how to do this modification? Very cool modification because it looks like it came from the factory that way.
