2005 mustang aux input question

whatup? i just joined, i need some advice. i have a 2005 mustang gt with the shaker 1000 system. i have a PIE aux input adapter, with my mp3 player hooked up to it. i also want to connect my sirius tuner to it, but there is only on input on the aux adapter. i was wondering if i just put 2 splitters in, and then ran another cable to the sirus tuner, if it would make the sound quality bad. my other option is this..

i am kind of leaning towards doing it with the soundgate tuner, im thinking the splitter and extra wiring will have a negative effect on sound quality

I don't know if this will help, but I have a really large entertainment system in my room and I have split one RCA input on my surround sound 4 ways to accomodate video game systems and have not noticed a loss in sound quality vs. having only one hooked up. Just don't run both extras at the same time and you should be fine. I think I would just split it to save money. Just my 2 cents.

i found out that having both connected at the same time could damage the output on one or both units, so i ordered the switch. only $41 on ebay

Sounds great, let me know how it works out. I've been wanting to hardwire my roady XT for a while now. I have a Peripheral Ipod Adapter hardwired and it sounds awesome, i'm getting tired of the FM transmitter for XM.

well here we go; i have had my updated peripheral unit for 11 months and today my instrument cluster went crazy;;; i had to disconnect the battery for an hour and disconnect the peripheral unit; all is ok now but if yours has not screwed your car up yet iT WILL -- be warned and if it is still under warranty tell them it went crazy and get your money back.

Now i am looking for another option - i am also confused with the new PIE - gotta find out if it works on the 05's or not; if you know please post.

the guages and the radio are both tied to the PCM so if one thing goes wrong the system starts coughing
