Awesome Dash kits!! Hope to decide on one soon. Are the Bullitt Steering wheels available as well, and wouldn't it require a dealer install? Thanks! Great site and my first post!

Search this section. Several people have installed the steering wheel and dash kits themselves. You do have to perform the power-down procedure for the airbag modules. If you are unconfortable with that I suggest checking with your dealer to see how much that would charge.

Thanks Deric! Man, this is an awesome Mustang site, the info here is unreal; all the killer mods, removing emblems with a blow dryer, all the V6 vs. GT vs. Clone debates, I love it!

Kevin, you are the man! I'm working on turning a 2005 Mustang, into a spoiler-less, Bullitt-like clone, or a GT 500 clone; I love 'em both! I'll keep you posted on the progress with photos, etc. I'm a newbie to be sure, but I've loved Mustangs ever since I first drove my Mom's white 1964 1/2! I've learned a lot from the site already, especially love reading the GT500 clone/conversion/mod threads. Thanks for all you do and I'm sure I'll be doing some business with you soon!

Hey Kevin,

Not to revive a dead or old topic, but I'd like to swap over to the satin air ducts (GT500/Bullitt style) without changing my IUP panels. My only concern is being able to swap out the rings around the gauge cluster. Is this possible or am I stuck with the chrome trim?

Thanks!

Kris

If your taking about the rings behind the wheel, I believe they are attached to the dash panel. My old IUP is boxed ready for shipping to someone. You can just lower your steering wheel, and pull out the gauge IUP panel. It pops out easily. Look behind it, and see if the rings can be removed separately. I don't think they can. Only the vent rings can be removed from the panels. I know KC has the 100% true answer.

It can be done but it requires some work on the cluster plate. See the following link
