05+ Aac Dead Pedal Info

Received an email from Aac4parts@aol.com today.

Info on their deadpedal: 5"x 2 1/2" slightly curved, installs using existing bolt behind carpet/kick panel

30.00 usc plus shipping.

They sent me a picture, which I have attached, hope it is not too big.

This pedal matches the kit that they have been supplying for the past few years. Looks like a solid piece.

I have placed an order for one, do not have any details yet. I will give you an update and more install info one I receive mine from Aac.

Well...I know that Aac supplies the auto industry with a lot of products that are re-branded, such as the GT500 pedal set-up. I do not know if this is sold to CDC, but I do see the similarities, at half the cost.

One can may his own call as to whether or not they are the same.

Does AAC have a website?

Amazing how after SEMA CDC drops the price on these! And AAC is only available on ebay and thru email contacts. I buy from them regularly and they are OEM parts for Ford from a supplier for Ford. No worries there!

Check out this thread from October.. it looks like it's the same (tiny) pedal offered by CDC.

LOL... another useless dead-pedal design. I don't understand why someone doesn't just make a larger dead-pedal that covers the ENTIRE dead-pedal area of the carpet. It's not rocket science.

What ever happened to that company that was going to try to make a good one. I remember them talking about it in another thread. For the price I may order this one because it is better than nothing.

The company was Ultimate Pedals and their last post on this topic was Nov 12th in the link I provided below. Don't know what happened there but I'm still interested.

I'm in the process of installing my GT500 pedals from AAC. The dead pedal is installed and the brake cover is warming up in hot water (tip read in another thread).

I too wish the dead pedal was a bit larger and reached further toward the floorboard (so my heel doesn't rest on the carpet).

Now that I have finished installing the dead pedal, I realize I didn't need to keep the carpet folded back while installing the dead pedal. After loosening the bolt, put the carpet back into place, then install the dead pedal. I left the carpet folded back and had a real tough time getting the carpet to slide completely under the dead pedal.

Another thing, the edges of the dead pedal were a little sharp and discolored, I guess from the cutting process. I took a file and rounded off the edges so I won't cut myself when vacuuming. I also filed off the discolored part so the edges are shiny metal, not burnished (now I hope rust is not a problem, this is made of stainless steel, right....).

Overall, I prefer to have a slightly undersized dead pedal than none at all.

I had to cut a little tab in the carpet the width of the bracket, and fold that back under the pedal. I didn't see any way to do it with the carpet in place. If I missed a better method, oh well. I'm not redoing it. :-)

For those of you that have the AAC pedal, are the rubber inserts removable? I've got an Autovation dead-pedal, but it just screws into the foam block, and isn't very stable. I wouldn't mind getting one of these and using it to mount my Autovation pedal to, if it would work.

yeh aac is good, I got the set of 3 pedals from them, and suprisingly they had the ford part on the back...it was very assuring to have ford parts on there for 38 bux
