Guys (and Gals)

After months of agony I finally took the plunge. Also fitted the Roush hood scoop and the CDC duck tail (I have the CDC 3rd tail light kit to install as well). I wanted it to look different than the traditional blue on white (like there are so many of ... not that they don't look good) with more of an understatement but still invoking that image. These stripes are true to the original Shelby Mustang published dimensions.

Waiting on my front grill from David Miller to top it off.

Check out this URL. Picking the car up tomorrow. I found three very professional shops in the NW Houston area and settled on this one in Magnolia TX. Real good people to work with. I think they were more excited about doing my car than I was.

I think it looks great. The Roush scoop really needs stripes IMO to make it look really good. Make sure you post some pics when you get her home. And are you thinking of getting a chin spoiler?

I wish I hadn't read this post. Now I'm thinking about the stripes again.

Thanks. I thought about a chin spoiler, but none of them really grab me. And then you have to constantly deal with driveway ramps, etc.. My 69 BOSS has been lowered all its life and you have to be careful so as to not mangle the shovel spoiler. We'll see after I get the grill from Dave Miller, but not high on my list of mod's to do.

Go for it!!!

Looks great!
What grille are you getting?

(needs the traditional Shelby side stripes, also)

Can you post a picture of a Dave Miller Grille? I don't know what that looks like but I sure do like what you have done to your car so far.

Paul, it's gonna be beautiful. Great color choice for the striping but man, how in the world were you able to be in the same room as your car minus the fenders, with filler in the trunk holes. I'd have to be resusitated if I ever saw mine like that.

Anyways, nice picks on everything so far.

Dave Miller grill -

Some pictures are posted elsewhere on the forum. This is not a inexpensive grill. And he has been having production problems since Thanksgiving, so I have been very patient along with several other people that have signed up. To me its the best I have seen (a photo of so far). He basically guts a GT grill, installs a new aluminum grill like the 67 Shelby and remounts the fogs lights closer together. The photo's and example cars on his web site show the prototype grill and the lights point out slightly. He has since corrected that. So if you are set on the existing mesh, this is not the grill for you. Dave Miller is also producing his 1st lot of the lower grill section to complement the main grill. Here is his URL. Check it out.

The shop that I have gone to does a grill as well, but his lights still kick out. He uses the 67 Shelby repro grill insert as the basis for his. It looks good (see car on his home page), but the lights kick out ... that would drive me nuts forever.

Seeing the car apart like I did was like seeing my wifes C section. Pretty interesting.

That's a very nice color scheme.

There was a Mustang GT350H in the GNR video Don't Cry with the same color scheme

The CDC classic chin spoiler is actually the exact same height off the ground as the stock bumper alone, believe it or not. The chin spoiler just sticks out a bit more. I can still get up on my pretty steep rhino ramps with the chin spoiler, so you shouldn't have anymore trouble with driveways with it on. Here's a pic of my car when it had the Roush scoop and chin spoiler. I think they compliment each other nicely.

And graypny... you really should consider stripes. I think they make the Roush hood scoop.
