would the silverhorse panel look good on my car?

I vote no because of the stripes as well.
Historically it's more correct for the Shelby stripes to exist without a black panel. The black-out honeycomb didn't show up until the Mach 1's.
However, I thought about doing Shelby stripes when I first got my car. My inspiration was my 76 Cobra II white with blue stripes. I liked what I have so much with the black rocker stripes that I decided to stay with black instead of stripping the rocker stripes and going for all blue. Now that I have seen Shelby stripes done to death I am more interested in just a black Mach1 stripe on the hood to compliment the rocker stripes. When you get down to it that is not even historically correct because the Pony package is classic GT inspired with rocker stripes only. The Pony package itself is not even historically correct because it is not a GT.
There is no right or wrong however because it's simply a matter of what combinations you can fit together to give a Mustang a look of your own that you are happy with. So go with what you like.

It looks great as it is! I know thats hard to realize that when we all become guilty of our "mod addictions". However I have stopped myself many times from doing something that I fear I may not like or find not as important later. There have been times I have done mods to cars that I ended up just reverting back to original. Now, I like to sit on ideas a good while before I act on them. That way I know exactly what I like and give myself a chance to see if I still feel strongly about it later.
Everything I have done so far to my car feels right. I never felt quite right about doing Shelby stripes though I wanted them at first. Now with the Mach1 style hood stripes available I know what I feel will look right for my car.
The good thing is many mods can be reversed to original... And many can be changed around depending on mood...

I saw a '73 Mach 1 on Appraise my Car this morning. It was the first time I had ever seen the honeycomb panel on the original car. I didn't know they came that way. Any way the car was gold with the black mach 1 side stripe and no le mans stripes. I would not mix the two. I really liked it though on that '73, really reminded me of some of the cars I've seen here.

no, due to the stripes. I do like the black out panel in general, but not with striped. It's your car though; if you like it then why not go for it

I guess it is hard to say how it would look since the black stripes and the SHR panel would be different shades of black so that might make it look a little odd.

Adrenalin, your car's *** look awesome. I really like the black tail light covers with that black out panel with the white stripes and the Sonic Blue. I don't know how it could be done better. I think every car needs a little black on it. I know it sounds stupid but in architecture especially interior design they teach you every room needs a little black in it. For some reason this really works. Bravo

I'm 100 percent with Adrenalin on this issue. In fact, he's the one who inspired me to use the blackout with stripes. Just as the front grille "blacks out", or interrupts the stripes on the front, so does the taillight blackout panel in the rear. Can you imagine having stripes painted on your grille? Exactly!
I've never liked the striping on the rear all the way to the ground. It's just TOO much and the blackout panel makes for a good balance.
